Dr. Wertheim was born and raised in North Carolina. He
is married and has two daughters. Ray Wertheim received his undergraduate
degree with highest honors at the University of North Carolina in
Chapel Hill in 1972. He finished Medical School at U.N.C. in 1976. He completed
residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of
Virginia and was appointed Chief Resident his final year by the faculty.
Dr. Wertheim taught for several years as a full time faculty member at
the Louisiana School of Medicine in New Orleans.
He subsequently founded Greenbriar Ob/Gyn, PC in 1982. Dr. Wertheim served as
Chairman of the Ob/Gyn Department at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital twice.
He is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopy. His most
recent passion is minimally invasive surgery including minimally invasive hysterectomies.
